Implemented by UNICEF in partnership with BOAD, CF4C-WA seeks to establish an innovative climate finance mechanism that places children at the center of climate investments across 7 countries in West Africa, including Guinea Bissau.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of #UNICEF and #BOAD to leveraging climate finance as a catalyst for improving the lives and futures of children, particularly those most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.

The Facility is designed to mobilize & channel resources towards climate-resilient social services, green skills & employment opportunities for young people, youth engagement initiatives &and other child-focused interventions that strengthen resilience to climate-related shocks.
On 13 July, Dr. Inoussa Kabore, UNICEF Representative in Guinea-Bissau, met with Mr. Youssouf Touré, BOAD Resident Mission Manager in Guinea-Bissau, to discuss the Climate Facility for Children in West Africa (CF4C-WA).

UNICEF welcomes the Government’s commitment to advance a Decree-Law on community health, reinforcing the vital role of CHWs in delivering life-saving services.
🚲 3,500 bicycles have been delivered to Community Health Workers (CHWs) accross Guinea-Bissau, helping bring essential health services closer #ForEveryChild and their families, including in the most remote communities.
They will help ensure that all active Community Health Workers across the country, including the 437 serving in the Cacheu region, are better equipped to reach families and provide quality care closer to home.
🚲👩🏾⚕️Community Health Workers are vital bridge for providing services to the hardest-to-reach children and mothers in Guinea-Bissau.
Last week, we celebrated in Bula the symbolic handover of 3,500 bicycles, together with essential medicines and equipment!
