Biden was actually good for the stock market.

Rates were heading lower. Inflation was coming down.

The 10-year was at 3.96%. Gas was in the 3’s.

If Trump had just fixed the border, which most Americans wanted, and left everything else alone, we’d probably be doing a lot better right now.

Instead we got tariff which have been an unmitigated disaster.

Yes, the stock market is doing okay, but it could be doing so much better.

And here’s the thing: we personalize economics onto presidents when it’s mostly situational.

Bush Sr. got blamed for a recession from the Gulf War. Clinton got credit for a recovery that was probably just cyclical.

This time though is self-inflicted. The president has inflicted self-harm on the economy.

ProPublica just reported that the Pentagon awarded nearly $350 MILLION in contracts to Alvarez & Marsal entities, including a $281 million no-bid consulting contract to advise an office run by George Kollitides, a former partner at a closely connected private-equity firm. Kollitides was even still listed as an adviser to his former firm after joining the Pentagon. His financial disclosures generally aren’t public, and questions remain about potential conflicts of interest.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Warren has been sounding the alarm about private equity’s growing grip on defense contractors, taxpayer overcharges, and the national security risks of putting profit ahead of competition and accountability.

Different companies. Same disturbing questions about who’s getting rich, who’s watching the money, and who’s protecting the American taxpayer.

Trump didn’t drain the swamp. He gave Wall Street a key to the Pentagon.
