Here’s the thing. Every last one of these people in tears heard Trump on the stump before the election. They knew he was cruel. But they were fine with it because they thought he’d only be cruel to the people they didn’t like. The problem with cruelty is that it doesn’t stop where you want it to—it spreads, and eventually, it comes for you too.

@davidwi10560815 @sarahandmaude @ColinYeo1 The U.S. requires an income of 125% of the federal poverty line, which is $22,887 for a couple. The fee per visa is $1,200. So it’s not nothing, but it is less. But we are in the U.K. because my wife’s father is in long-term care after suffering a stroke and her mum needs help.

We’ve spent over £10k so far on visa fees, and I’m due to apply, and pay for, Indefinite Leave to Remain and British citizenship in early 2025. It’s NOT easy and people are always shocked to learn what’s required.
