@CWHM@CFSnowbirds Beautiful! Historic in a sad way. 1st Snowbird/Lanc flight was July 1990. My dad Norm Etheridge took this photo from the Lanc while in formation over Ottawa (de Havilland Buffalo in the lead). 2nd photo from the rear of the Buffalo. Sad it's the end of a longtime shared legacy.
@CWHM Congrats, William! You will have the best time ever! Fun fact: the engineer in charge of the original Lanc restoration (Norm Etheridge), lived in Milton, is a member of the Milton Walk of Fame, and has a street named after him there!
@Cmdr_Hadfield My condolences to you and your entire family. Both your mother and father were such good friends to my parents, and extraordinarily kind to me. I will remember them so fondly. You were truly blessed to have such wonderful folks.
@Rainmaker1973 Sending you positive thoughts. Have watched my hubby struggle with viruses for years with his transplant. Hoping your team will soon find the necessary balance to keep your graft and your body in sync. β€
@Rainmaker1973 All the best to you & your donor. My husband's donor kidney from his father is still working well a full 33 years after graft (also timed for him to luckily bypass dialysis). Not a simple or straightforward road by any means, but it is a tremendous, life-altering gift. β€
@CWHM@RCAF_ARC We saw it! Was circling over Niagara-on-the-lake as we passed through yesterday. Much guessing ensued as to what it was, so thanks for the ident !
@UHNTransplant@OntariosDoctors@UHN No possible way to list all the doctors who have supported my hubby in his 33 year kidney transplant journey. But to ALL the specialists, ER docs and GPs who have helped us - THANK YOU!
Hubby and I are wearing our shirts today! My husband is proof of the difference transplants make...33 years with a donor kidney! Proud to remember Logan and to honour the work his family is doing to share this message of hope and generosity. #LoganBouletEffect#HumboldtStrong
Today on @GreenShirtDay Dr. Atul Humar, Director, Ajmera #Transplant Centre at UHN wears green.
Every year, on average, 250 people in Canada die because they donβt get the life-saving #organ they need.

@Goodable Such sweet creatures. To be honest, I would volunteer to cuddle (I mean "hold") koalas on the scale to weigh them...even though it would mean that I would have to be weighed first! π
@Rainmaker1973 Sending you + vibes on your journey. Your sister is offering you a great gift & I hope the process moves forward as easily as possible. As of this weekend, my husband is 33 years into his kidney transplant from his donor father. I wish the same good fortune to you & your family.
Staff must be horrified. And will SDM be contact tracing every customer who enters so that they can be advised if one of their symptomatic tests comes back positive? Should they not be required to publicly disclose if shoppers at a particular location may have been exposed?
As early as tomorrow, Ontario will allow COVID testing for symptomatic people at Shoppers Drug Mart.
So people with COVID symptoms, who can spread a virus that is airborne, will go to a pharmacy where there are people with weak immune systems & unvaccinated children.
Insanity.
@PuddingCorner@uhnfoundation@UHN@PMunkCardiacCtr Got you beat by *just* a bitπ. My husband's transplant at UHN was 32 (going on 33) years ago, and I agree...the Transplant team truly does ROCK. A gifted and compassionate group of physicians, nurses and support staff. They are indeed the reason for my hubby's survival.
@NightShiftMD I hope it can help to lift you up a little knowing that there are many of us out here who greatly respect and value what you do every day. Bless you and your colleagues!
@SydsRoadTrips@CanadianForces Wow, amazing job! My hubby and I do this every year as well, but come nowhere near your number! We've also had letters back, even a thank you message from overseas on our answering machine once! This year we choose Operation Reassurance in Poland for our cards.
