DEFINITELY my last election in Wiltshire as (Acting) Returning Officer today and as always I’ve been out visiting polling stations to thank our fantastic staff. Without their support it wouldn’t be possible to run elections successfully. #GE24
Today our Acting Returning Officer, Terence Herbert, received the writs for the #generalelection.
We’ll be publishing the formal notice of election on Monday.

Very proud that we have achieved an Outstanding rating from OFSTED. Having previously held the DCS role I know what an amazing journey this has been and this outcome is a testament to the hard work of everyone involved in supporting children and families across Wiltshire.
OFSTED inspectors visited our Children’s Services in September, spending two weeks assessing how well we work with children and families needing support and have given the highest rating possible – ‘Outstanding’.

We didn’t win local authority of the year but a privilege to be shortlisted in recognition for the excellent work we do @wiltscouncil. Congratulations to @BarnsleyCouncil on your well-deserved win 🏆 #MJAwards

An excellent result for the team demonstrating yet again that fly-tipping won’t be tolerated in Wiltshire. We’re targeting fly-tipping and continue to invest in tackling the issue.
A Swindon resident has been issued with a £400 fixed penalty notice (FPN) for fly-tipping household waste in a layby north of Cricklade.

I’m pleased to be supporting this great initiative and it’s great to see so many colleagues involved as well. Almost 4,500km in one month is a great effort - at this rate we’ll have to extend the target 🏃🚴🏽🚶🏼
As an overnight short breaks carer, the help and support you give to a local family is immeasurable. A massive 'thank you' to all our existing ONSB's carers. ❤️
It’s been touch and go and who would have thought we would be above Chelsea at this stage in the season a few weeks ago but I think @CPFC can look forward to Premiership football next season!
Our libraries are working with the @GoodThingsFdn to bring the National Databank to Wiltshire - providing free SIM cards and mobile data, texts and calls to people in need.

This evening I presented 10 sports scholarship grants alongside @KateFrench3. It’s great @wiltscouncil’s Funding Future Olympians and Paralympians Programme

I was pleased to see so many colleagues in person today at our staff briefing as well as a large number joining online. As well as being an opportunity to answer your questions and provide key updates it’s also great to celebrate our success in these sessions.
This is a fantastic achievement. Very proud of the staff who have taken part in this training and become ambassadors for colleagues across the organisation as we continue on our journey to become a carbon neutral organisation by 2030 #EarthDay
