Romania’s political crisis has escalated again.

George Simion is now calling for the suspension of President Nicușor Dan.

Simion says he will send PSD parliamentarians the signature table needed to begin the process and is urging supporters to pressure them to sign.

This comes less than a day after Dan nominated Luca Niculescu as his fourth attempt to form a government.

🇷🇴 I’ve been deeply uncomfortable with the Călin Georgescu story from the beginning.

He WON THE MOST VOTES in Romania’s 2024 presidential first round. That election was then ANNULLED.

Now, before being convicted of anything, he is behind bars.

A lower court initially rejected prosecutors’ request to detain him for 30 days and imposed judicial controls instead. Prosecutors appealed, and the Bucharest Court of Appeals reversed that decision.

Georgescu denies the fraud allegations against him.

Maybe prosecutors have evidence that ultimately justifies what they’re doing. I’m not pretending to know what a court hasn’t yet decided.

But this is precisely when presumption of innocence has to MEAN SOMETHING.

Not when the defendant is popular or sympathetic.

When he is politically radioactive, and the power of the state is being used against him.

What are these right for if they can just take them from you as easily?!

Los repuestos empezaron a llegar después de que Estados Unidos levantara este año licencias a cuatro empresas estadounidenses, entre ellas General Electric y Siemens, para vender equipos a Venezuela.

El 70 % de la infraestructura termoeléctrica del país es estadounidense y el 30 %, europea.

La meta es estabilizar el sistema, sobre todo en el Zulia, y reducir las horas de administración de carga.
