Maybe you should go directly to an Apple Store Genius Bar to see if they can offer you a goodwill repair or another commercial solution.

@POR_match_views @arunvkumarkc @AppleSupport @jagograhakjago I wrote a letter to Apple in Cork, and they called me back. Apple has agreed to repair my MacBook free of charge because I am eligible for coverage under the hidden defect (latent defect) policy.

I’m not sure whether this is a protection that exists only under French law
