Labour MP Dawn Butler has written to the BBC asking for an "urgent explanation" over the airing of a racist slur at the BAFTAS.
In her letter, Dawn Butler said:
"I understand that the BBC has since edited the iPlayer version to remove the racist slur, I would appreciate a written explanation as to why this was not addressed before the delayed broadcast, who was in the editing room, who made the overall decision and why Mr Davies Jr's remarks were deemed unsuitable while the racist slur was initially left in."
@SkyNews@GarethBarlow What a loss, what a towering giant“ We are not a perfect party. We're not a perfect people," Jackson said. "Yet, we are called to a perfect mission. Today, we bow our heads in honor of a life that burned brightly for faith, justice, and humanity.
The passing of Jesse Jackson leaves a deep ache in our hearts, but his legacy stands taller than sorrow. He was a voice for the voiceless, a shepherd to the struggling, and a relentless advocate for dignity and equality. His courage stirred nations. His compassion healed communities. His faith moved mountains.
To the Jackson family: may you find strength in the immeasurable impact he made, comfort in the countless lives he touched, and peace in knowing that his work on earth will echo through generations.
Though he has taken his rest, his light will never fade.
As our CEO @UzoIwobi says, he is a towering giant, whose legacy will leave on.
@SkyNews@UzoIwobi@GarethBarlow Rest in peace and power Rev Jesse Jackson. You ran your race with courage and dignity. We salute your legacy and tenacity. Your determination to campaign for
Racial equity and inclusion is legendary. Your light and life will never be forgotten. Rest in peace with our Lord & King
