Today our province took a huge step forward to expand access to safe alternatives to the toxic drug supply. This will save the lives of our friends, families & loved ones. I am so proud our Govt is taking action on all fronts to #StopOverdose! https://t.co/2WK0Dk8MJ9
The ongoing enforcement of sex work offences is a violation of sex workers’ human rights. It denies agency and dignity. We’re joining the call to stop enforcing sex work offences immediately. #SexWorkDecrim@CDNSWAlliance@DavidLametti#RepealPCEPA
We are so excited to announce funding support from the @ESDC_GC delivered by @redcrosscanada as part of COVID-19 support for local non-profits. We will use this funding to expand and improve the work we do! Read our full press release:
We support drug decriminalization because criminalizing people who use drugs devastates lives and isn't protecting anyone. @JustinTrudeau@PattyHajdu We're joining @aidslaw to ask you to decriminalize simple drug possession now! #drugdecrim#cdnpoli#harmreduction
Please see the below linked ALERT from WECOSS (Windsor-Essex Community Opioid & Substance Strategy) in relation to high rates of drug-related overdoses.

While the rest of Canada talks about safe supply, expanding supervised consumption services- here in Windsor we can't even get our police to carry naloxone. Maddening, heartbreaking, backwards.
In at least two instances, security at the @downtownmission who do carry naloxone- administered this lifesaving medication. We appreciate their understanding that all social service providers must carry naloxone. The overdose crisis is here in Windsor, and continuing to grow.
Once again, we call on @drewdilkens & @WindsorPolice to have ALL police carry naloxone, a lifesaving medication that reverses the effects of overdose.
It's excellent news that @CACP_ACCP finally endorses decriminalization of simple drug possession. But since the "treat addiction as a health issue" chorus is getting really loud and obscuring the underlying problems (and intents) of today's drug laws, here's a thread/re-thread /1
Few harm reduction resources exist for those experiencing chaotic alcohol use, though problematic drinking is extremely common. A #ManagedAlcohol program could be the next big thing in this space. Could it work in Windsor?
"MAPs aren’t a solution to addiction, but try to prevent associated harms...in the context of #COVID19, MAPs have taken on an additional role as a measure to limit the spread of the virus."
