@spooked75@wyantarturo16 Glad to know that a former US service member supports censorship and big brother. It probably is better that you live in Europe at this point.
@spooked75@wyantarturo16 You claim that you don't want Americans to have fewer freedoms but just admitted that European countries do not have freedom of speech. And here I thought veterans took an oath to defend the US constitution.
@spooked75@wyantarturo16 Does the EU require hate speech laws be implemented as a requirement for membership? This is a very simple answer that you keep trying to avoid answering.
@wyantarturo16@spooked75 Where they prosecuted based on speech or on the implied actions from intimidation? If speech can be prosecuted why was that KKK member not prosecuted for other things they said?
@selmarsmit@spooked75@wyantarturo16 Defamation requires an individual to show economic or reputational harm from false staments. Hence defamation does not restrict free speech. Someone can sue for defamation based on false staments, fail to show harm and lose that suit even if they prove those statements as false
@spooked75@wyantarturo16 Threats and intimidation are prosecuted based on the implications of action, not the so each itself. Freedom of speech is absolute in the US and your failure to understand that says a lot about you.
@young759952@spooked75 Yes you do. That is literally the definition of freedom of speech. Someone getting their feelings hurt does not void individual rights.
