Still no proper birding for me til uni is boxed off.
But seeing a white stork today in Penketh was the last thing I'd ever imagined!!! Absolutely overjoyed, shocking photo as by the time I got home it was so high!
Incredible 🥰
It's been a while, I've been busy in my final year at Uni this year.
I'd kindly need some bird experts to participate in my research experiment around recognition rates between faces and birds, it would take around ten minutes of your time please.

Summer has arrived arrived, much to my dismay.
However, seeing my first ever Swift at 34 by the 100 was a real treat!
Surrounded by Swift, and warblers, in summers embrace.
A real treat to see Mr Woodchat Shrike, and a lovely Skylark 😍

My first visit to @MereSandsWood today with the Birds and the Belles.
What a fantastic place, teaming with new life, bustling with insects and birdsong everywhere.
It's so good for the mind and soul 😌
@BBCSpringwatch
Connaught waters was teeming with new life on Tuesday, from heronies, goslings, to Egyptian goslings and 100s of jackdaws, there was plenty of action for everyone to be involved with!
What a hidden gem!
2025 has been incredible for birding so far — so many firsts already! Added another tonight.
Spending my Friday evening with Mr. Hoopoe 🥰
Only chance I’ll get to bird this weekend, so I’very embraced it! 😕🪶
I've had an amazing day facilitating and leading our first Birds and the Belles Meetup at Pennington Flash, with a variety of experience levels.
It was lovely inspiring some new birders and meeting other like minded people.
Next event at Mere Sands Wood 18th May ❤️
Superb morning at Llyn Brenig.
So many Cuckoos! Stonechats and meadow pippets galore.
Couple of Groppers singing, forever impossible to find 🤣
Willow warbler, Willow tit, yellowhammer, sisken, wren, whitethroat, Bullfinch and the usual.
I couldn't have asked for a better day
A special sighting relatively close to me. I never thought I'd get to see one!
A Stone Curlew! What wonderful legs they had!
Not the greatest of photos due to heat haze, but a right Bobby dazzler none the less 🥰

@mattyjgillett My neck is still sore from not knowing where to look, I'll deffo have to go back again, I could quite easily lose a weekend there 🥰 I hope the kids enjoyed it too!
💥 2 new lifers for me 🥰
I had my first visit with the Birds & The Belles at St Aidan's yesterday.
It was well worth the drive, what a place! Blown away by the sheer size of it, listening to 4 different bitterns booming!
And to see my first little owl & BNG 😍💥
Some beautiful birds from the stunning @RSPBSouthStack
My first time seeing a shag too! They are a lot smaller in reality! 🤭
Leo has picked up the bug and wants to buy his own camera too now 🥰
Quick visit to Lunt Meadows on the way home. Plenty of White throat, Blackcap & Willow warbler. Possibility a male common Redstart.Birdguides stated an Osprey, I seen a pale morph buzzard instead- photo below
Also certain this PFG was on eggs - i didn't know they bred here!
Birding in Formby, hours spent on the search for red squirrels.
Lots of male Blackcap in full pelt, sparrowhawk, and menacing wood pigeons amongst the pines that had me searching for Red Squirrels 😅
