I agree, in the 70's and 80's it was fkg horrific! Many ppl lost literally everything in ON, their jobs, houses, marriages, alcoholism and drug use went up, homelessness went up, and ON was on the beginning of a housing, homeless, and drug then! Welfare lines grew, EI grew, and both changed all the rules too! New this, new that, new waiting periods! I remember poggy made ppl go look for 7 jobs a day for signature, 5 days wk, and there were NO JOBS in our city, the factories closed down omg it was insane!

The late 70's and all through the 80's and 90's in Ontario were fucking hell bc of recession! I am 71 and was a factory in S. On then and let me tell you, S. ON got fk royally during that time, plants closed, 1000's of jobs losses. Factories moved back to the USA, some just cloese line, decreased employees, etc. interests were skyhigh like anywhere from 12%-24% and that was for almost 20 yrs.

Well FK, and here I thot it was DONALD J TRUMPS FAULT bc of all those tariffs and how he fkd our steel, lumber and auto industry and put 1000's of Canadian's out of work, which shut down lines in plants, closed plants, cancelled orders, left BLEAK outlooks for the future for ALL THE WORKERS on the other end of these lines!!
