Considering that there are easy and repeatable steps you can take now to defend against lvl 1 proxy i dont see why riot would ever think to nerf it like this.
That being said i never noticed much of an exp discrepancy from singed players proxying a few waves early
What is the purpose of this being in the game? It gets removed after the first 3 waves, I don't understand why it even exists. Did we forget to remove it from lane swap era? Or what is this?

@RiotPhroxzon
Riot doesnt want to admit it but the only real way to stop degenerate support strats is it seriously reign in how much that role gets for free.
Its the only role in the game that can dedicate its time to playing lobby admin lvl 1 while everyone else suffers the consequences
@Tawster_Tawney No them playing lobby admin from lvl 1 is NOT good. They need to be crippled heavily for attempting to do this as they are effectively trying to do the same to other roles. The risk must match the reward
@wheredapumpat Difference being that in s2 this was borderline trolling and if the cheese didnt work they were useless for the rest of the game which heavily disincentivizes that playstyle
Ive said it before and ill say it again, a very large portion of leagues problems stems from the absurd level of handholding riot has done to support and jungle. A lot of the degenerate playstyles (like funneling and perma roam) existed because those changes allowed it
Firstly, I acknowledge the frustration here.
I want to explain our approach from the Designer's perspective.
One of the things that's really important for League's longevity is to have the right amount of frustration in the game. It creates a desire to learn, to try again, it creates highs and lows and texture + variety in the experience. Broadly, the Design team doesn't believe that there is so much frustration in the game currently to warrant a larger swing than what we're making.
The goal for us is not for the Designers to make the most popular changes in the game. You've all seen the "reddit knows balance threads". It's also not for Designers to broadly reduce frustration, though it can be right sometimes. I could rattle off hundreds of things people find frustrating, from dying to fed Rengar with no counterplay, to windwall, to mages bot, etc.
I know it's not going to be popular, but we believe that mages bot with reasonable levels of ebbs, flows and strengths and weaknesses adds to League's longevity.
We are still doing something about mages bot on 26.16. The thing we're not doing is removing them from viability though as we think their presence makes League better.
Jungle and support have been able to do this for a long time but now its dialed up to 11 both in how often it happens and how easy it is to get away with
Riot needs to realize that this type of "frustration" motivates people to quit, not play
Frustration caused by your own mistakes leads to improvement which is good
Currently Jungle and especially Support can just decide to ruin the game for you which isnt "good frustration"
If support decides hes roaming top/mid or invading enemy jungle -> well I am 1v2 bot and likely not able to farm
On the other side of the map the same happens for 1 or more players too
Right now the frustration of out of control factors is way higher than in control factors which is bad for the game and will likely cause more players to quit/ not wanna play
Call me out of im delusional but I think thats the way a lot of people feel about the game right now
@shaun_forde The problem isnt other classes going bot its the wider shift to what roles are trying to do within the game as a result that creates really unfun environments. Nobody likes playing with perma roam support except the support player. Nobody likes 1v2 top or lvl 1 jg invade by sup
@thanagorSHS Thats not true, jungle was still a strong and enjoyable role. Many junglers actually complained at the lack of skill expression when those changes went through. Getting leads against the enemy jungler was so much mire difficult with catchup exp and lack of counter jungling
