The #AccessibleCanada Act just received Royal Assent! A historic moment for Canada and for Canadians with disabilities. I am so proud of this Bill and of everyone who contributed to its success.
I cannot thank my team and Canada’s disability community enough. Thank you!
Persons with disabilities are not an afterthought on our plan to ban single-use plastics. We’ve got access to straws and other single uses plastics top of mind. The @UN is a great example of environmental stewardship and #accessibility in action. #BeatPlasticPollution
@CathyBrowne interviewed fellow Wingspan artist and teacher @richard_harlow on @coopradio. @CQualtro@ShaneLSimpson, this is a heartfelt overview of our recent artists in schools project and its impact on the students, teachers, parents and the artists. https://t.co/YEfo9rjrzu

Wingspan's accessible and inclusive Disability and Deaf Artists-in-Residence Program is a wonderful, barrier-breaking initiative. I hope many more students have the opportunity to participate.
I was thrilled this morning to visit the "Picture 'Perfect' Blind Ambitions" exhibit at UBC's Hatch Gallery with some of the immensely talented visually impaired artists whose work is on display. Their creative visions bring new perspectives on art and inclusion.
One of the artists, painter Richard Harlow, has been the Wingspan Artist-in-Residence at Ladner Elementary in Delta, using art to teach students, including my daughter Jessica, about accessibility and inclusion.
Thank you to Minister Carla Qualtrough for visiting our Wingspan and Kickstart exhibit, Picture Perfect: Blind Ambitions and showing your support to our Wingspan residency program!
