This may be too ‘hands-off’ for some coaches and I never in a million years thought I would be saying this, but the BEST BLOB PLAY IS NO BLOB PLAY!

The drill involves two teams, each with five players (coaches can run this drill 4-on-4 if they like). One ball is used, and the coach starts with the ball positioned anywhere on the perimeter.

Through creating an offensive advantage, the offense gains the opportunity to find the weak links in the opponents’ team defense or to attack weak individual defenders.

A coach throws the ball to any offensive player and the offense attempts to execute a fast break. The defense must talk and work together to cover the open man. X2 must recover quickly to pick up the open man. Have your offense run a motion game.
