I was around 10yrs, we had the popular green Mercedes Benz, living in an apartment block with some 40+ other families.

My younger sis is 5yrs, she has a friend who’s a neighbor also 5yrs of age and an only child. So she and my sister are always playing outside together.

It’s about 6pm, my mom send me to get her women of faith CD from the Benz, I take the key, go downstairs and open the driver door and get in.

In order to get the Cd out, I have to ON the car, I do that and instead of leaving it on ON, I pushed it further to start engine.

Because I’m 10 and short, I’m leaning to press the buttons to extract the Cd, what I don’t realize is I’ve somehow pushed the gear and the car is rolling forward.

By the time I realize as I straightened up, I see my sister’s friend, an only child, right in front of the moving Benz.

I panic and start to yell as I’m trying to yank the key out.

Luckily she hears and moves away, somehow I stop the car before it hits the car in front of it.

I take the cd back to my mom and act like nothings happened.
Tell the kids to not mention it to anyone.

The next morning as she’s leaving for work, she sees her car a distance from where it was parked and you know the rest…

That single experience is the reason I have no desire to drive till today.
