British Royal Navy reconnaissance drones containing Chinese components secretly transmitted data to China – Telegraph

It was discovered that the cameras on "K3 Scout" naval drones used by British elite special forces contained Chinese components that secretly transmitted data to China.

The cameras sent so-called "heartbeat signals"—data confirming they were online and operational—to an IP address in China.

The UK Ministry of Defence has completely disconnected the cameras from the internet and stated that there has been no evidence of classified data leakage or system failures.

The source noted that preparations for British operations in the Persian Gulf had involved these drones, adding: "This is a serious failure in vetting the origin of components, and we have lost confidence in this platform."

There are also concerns that the surveillance drones were present near highly classified meetings involving special forces leadership, with the cameras remaining active even when the drones were ostensibly powered down. 🫣🫣🫣
