Here is what is happening in the Cosmos ecosystem today:

1. ATOM tokenomics / Robo

Today is the 21st, and the community is still waiting for updates from @RoboMcGobo and the tokenomics workstream regarding the future of ATOM.

At the moment, the only clearly defined milestone is January 23, which is the deadline for submitting proposals under the ATOM tokenomics research RFP.

This implies that any meaningful public updates, draft models, or concrete directions are likely to appear after January 23, even though this is not being clearly communicated yet.

2. Noble and $USDC

Noble @noble_xyz is effectively leaving the Cosmos ecosystem, taking with it a key part of the native USDC infrastructure. At the same time, USDC remains the primary settlement asset across the ecosystem, especially for large-value transactions. A significant portion of this activity has historically, and still does, involve dYdX.

3. dYdX’s position

So far, there has been no public statement from @dYdX regarding Noble’s exit.

There is also no public information indicating that @cosmoslabs_io or other teams have formally coordinated with dYdX on future stablecoin strategy or liquidity continuity. Even if such discussions are happening privately, the lack of public communication adds uncertainty.

4. A native Cosmos stablecoin

There are ongoing discussions and proposals around a native @cosmos stablecoin, including ATOM-backed designs.

However: nothing has been approved at the governance level, no final architecture has been confirmed, and no team has been publicly identified as responsible for building and maintaining it. In the context of Noble’s exit, this leaves an important strategic gap.

5. The key open question: who builds next?

While Cosmos Labs appears to be increasingly focused on infrastructure and institutional partnerships, a fundamental question remains unanswered:

Who is expected to build and maintain user-facing products, DeFi primitives, liquidity layers, and real economic activity within the Cosmos ecosystem going forward?

Cosmos community is so unusual

They are the most active and loyal community in hole crypto. Taking part in projects development, grow tech, support each other

But looks like Cosmos is a big bubble. Closed ecosystem. Like Costco. It’s real cult btw. If you share how deep you love smth in Cosmos, you will get ton of comments from fam with same positive vibes. On the other hand, if you don’t like something and share some ideas, don’t match with public opinion - be prepared to chaos or Drama in comments

Cosmos has the best tech and the worse marketing. Sometimes it’s fun to follow how chains troll each other in the comments. Thousands of views, engage between different communities. Like stereotyp that Starknet has only 8 users. That’s fun and cost nothing. But cosmos is on its way. Strange guy staying in the corner in the party while others dancing. Nobody cares what’s happening in the cosmos, only cosmonauts. Only time to time some influencers make a provocative post to collect reactions

Stop it. Cosmos need to change that. Don’t live in that bubble. Build bridges. Work with other foundations. Support with media projects build on Cosmos, working with other chains like Nolus with Sol or Neutron with BTC. Or even Stargaze with new NFT era. Hire a person who will care about main twitter account.

Institutions and b2b is fine. But we are living in media world, and without marketing and advertising it’s impossible to grow up
