Winter is an Atlantic bottlenose dolphin who lost her tail after getting entangled in a crab trap. Winter starred in Dolphin Tale 1 and 2.

Today we commemorate Winter's Rescue Anniversary. On this day in 2005, Winter was discovered entangled in a crab trap in need of rescue. Her injuries led to the loss of her tail, but not her spirit! Winter spent 16 years at CMA, inspiring millions along the way.

Today, on the one-year anniversary of Winter the Dolphin’s passing, Clearwater Marine Aquarium released plans for a memorial garden in honor of the late Dolphin Tale star. The garden and winding pathway will feature a statue of Winter as she emerges from a water fountain.

Rest in paradise PJ. 💙 From the instant PJ arrived at CMA, it was clear that her easygoing personality would make her a perfect match for Winter and Hope. PJ is now able to join Winter and serve as her bodyguard for eternity – as she would have it no other way.
