Fans say Jim Cummings deserved this honor years ago 😢

Imagine being the voice of an entire childhood, and still not officially being named a Disney Legend. 🎙️

At 73, Jim Cummings has spent decades bringing some of Disney’s most recognizable characters to life, including Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Darkwing Duck, Pete, Ray, and Hondo Ohnaka. Even Disney’s own D23 has described him as a “voice acting legend.”

Yet Cummings was once again absent from Disney’s announced 2026 Disney Legends class. The omission has become such a talking point that fans launched a petition this year asking Disney to finally honor him.

Awards don’t create a legacy, but sometimes you wonder how legendary someone has to become before the title finally catches up.

Guinness wrote down every recipe it ever brewed, going back to 1759. The company still can't recreate its own 1864 beer. The missing ingredient just turned up in a shipwreck at the bottom of the English Channel.

Here's the problem paper can't solve. A recipe tells you the grain, the hops, the water. It can't store the yeast, and yeast does most of the work of making a beer taste like itself.

Which is why microbiologists at KU Leuven want this bottle so badly. It sat upside down on the wreck of the Mindora, 5km off Dover, for 162 years. The trapped air bubble pressurized the cork like a seal, and the cold dark seabed made a better cellar than anything the Victorians built on land.

Living yeast cells probably didn't survive. Doesn't matter. Dead cells still carry a full genome. Sequence it, match it against thousands of archived strains, and you can brew what the lead geneticist calls a "modern sibling" of the 1864 original.

There's precedent. Divers pulled 168-year-old champagne from a Baltic wreck in 2010. Still drinkable. Bottles later sold for €30,000. A Finnish brewery rebrewed an 1840s beer the same way, from microbes left inside shipwreck bottles.

My favorite part is the inversion. Diageo owns Guinness and 260 years of company records. Yet the closest anyone has come to tasting 1864 Guinness is a Belgian dive photographer who rinsed sand off a bottle and saw "Extra Stout" on the glass.

Some things can't be backed up on paper. You have to find them at the bottom of the sea.
