Scam Alert to Job Seekers:
There are many scams happening these days, but job seekers are among the biggest targets. When someone is desperate for work, it becomes easy for scammers to take advantage of them. Here are some tricks…
1-Some “job search companies” ask you to pay UGX 50,000–100,000 for registration so they can help you find a job. You give them your CV and wait for opportunities that never come. Be very careful with these.
2-Another common scam is when someone calls claiming there’s a job opening, but says you first need a TIN number. They then ask you to pay around UGX 50K so they can “process it” for you yet getting a TIN is actually free.
3-Then there are brokers who claim they work with certain companies or know HR managers and bosses. They ask for money to “connect” you. Some demand even more than money, especially from young girls.
Someone is making money off your struggle and desperation. Stay alert, ask questions, and protect yourself while job hunting. Whats your job search story? #BeeraSteady #SkillsKlinic
