The experiment conducted along a 20 km stretch of the Skawa River in the Carpathians showed that 71.9% of macroplastic (PET bottles) was trapped by wood jams. In the narrow section, the trapping efficiency of wood jams was three times higher (14.8%/km) than in the unregulated one
Cross fingers for GLOWS!
The GLOWS project aims to understand GLOFs in Svalbard's Isfjord. Using remote sensing and field methods, it seeks to create a GLOF risk map to enhance tourism logistics, scientific expeditions, and local safety.

The #Macocha Abyss is a sinkhole in the Moravian Karst cave system and part of the Punkva Caves with the Punkva River flows through it.
Whether you are a casual visitor or a technical diver, you will fall in love with Macocha - no pun intended. 🇨🇿 #visitczechrepublic

1876
by Eugène Viollet-Le-Duc
Surveyed 1868-1875 by the talented architect and scientist. First published in 1874.
Despite lack of contour lines, one of the first accurate map of the Massif, which was criticised for its 'aestheticism' (!)
Fun fact this cartoon is based on a true story. I once plotted my results against themselves and got briefly very excited that I had found a perfect correlation... I don't think this cartoon conveys how stupid I felt
About how heavy good company can be, about what's in and outside the country and about my new mom-job.😉
