Autism’s Got Talent has always been very close to my heart ♥️
For 15 years, it has brought our charity and the autism community together to celebrate such talented children and adults, build confidence and create so many unforgettable memories.
What many people probably don’t know is that I personally funded Autism’s Got Talent during those early years because I wanted to keep this very special show going.
As the show grew, we were fortunate to have some wonderful sponsors come on board. Even with their valued support, I have continued to personally contribute towards the cost of the show alongside sponsorship and other support.
Why?
Because I believe in it that much.
Over the years I have watched performers arrive nervous, sometimes lacking confidence, and then walk off that stage with their chest puffed out and walking a little taller.
I have watched friendships form, confidence grow and families tell us what being part of Autism’s Got Talent has meant to them.
That is what matters to me.
For as long as I am able, I will continue to contribute towards this show because I have seen with my own eyes the difference it can make.
Autism’s Got Talent has never been just one night on a stage. It is about giving people an opportunity to shine and celebrating them for exactly who they are. ♥️
I am so grateful to all our volunteers who take care of our performers and their families. They are worth their weight in gold.
A special mention has to go to my right-hand woman, Lisa Robins. We have worked together for almost 17 years now and we practically finish each other’s sentences because we are always on the same page! 😂♥️
15 years on, and it still means just as much to me as it did when we first started in 2012.
Here’s to celebrating 15 years of some very special memories and some very special people. ♥️
Autism's got Talent takes place 2 weeks tomorrow at The Mermaid Theatre Blackfriars.
