US bank deposits have fallen $600 billion since the beginning of February to $17.15 trillion. Where is much of that money going? Into market-market funds, which have risen $500 billion over that same time period to a record $5.33 trillion.
The upcoming May/June CPI reports are going to show a sharp move lower the inflation rate as the commodity spikes (gas prices >$5.00/gallon, etc.) from last May/June drop off. Should see CPI well below 4% in the June report.
