Today was a very special day. Iris couldn’t be Lena was turning ten years old. Ten was a big number and Iris made sure she had everything planned. Of course, Lena had s new dress to wear. Iris had kept with the tradition of sewing a new birthday—

@PreciousFairyx “I want you to be happy. This is what you deserve. You have been through so much and this day is about you. We are celebrating you.” Iris finished off the braid and put little flowers in Lena’s hair.

@PreciousFairyx Iris grabbed one of the hair brushes and did Lena’s hair carefully. “Do you have special wishes this year, sweet girl?”

@PreciousFairyx “Of course I can do your hair. It’s gotten long. I’ll put pretty braids in it.” She would do all that she could for Lena today. Part of her didn’t believe they would make it this far. But they took life one day at a time and now Lena was 10, two digits instead of one.

@PreciousFairyx “It seems like you’ve been awake for a while! I can tell you’re very excited!” Iris wanted this day to just be about her daughter. Lena deserved it. “I usually help you get ready. Do ten year old girls still want their mothers to help them?”
