@Foote55 @jean_offret @TheDougRush few players even if they are at the brink of not being in the league will not risk their career for 1 more game check in a meaningless game. You can argue Hypotheticals, but looking at NFL players response to this shows it’s not in their favor. Players hate the idea for a reason.
@Foote55 @jean_offret @TheDougRush We are not talking average though. We are talking about 2 bottom 5 teams. Those bottom 5 teams are going to be at that 50% or higher. Average is the average because their are teams on both sides of the spectrum.
@Foote55 @jean_offret @TheDougRush They tried extra money incentives for the probowl. That doesn’t work. Most players won’t risk their career for a meaningless game.
@Foote55 @jean_offret @TheDougRush If you look at players (past and present) that have responded to this idea. It is a collective No. You are asking players to forgo their recovery period to play in a game that 50% of the roster most likely won’t be there the next season.
@Foote55 @jean_offret @TheDougRush Wouldn’t benefit the QB. Wouldn’t benefit guys on a expiring contract that won’t be on the team the next year. Wouldn’t benefit the guys that get cut as a cap casualty. Wouldn’t benefit the free safety who lost his job to the 2nd round player that got drafter 33 overall.
@TheDougRush this isn’t a good draft for a QB. However, the reason the Probowl is trash is because the players have nothing to play for. If you took the 2 worst teams, the players wouldn’t have anything to play for because if they do good, the more likely someone will come take their job.
@TheDougRush The problem is why would the players want to play this game? Let’s use Goff as an example. If he played well in this game that means the lions would get the number 1 pick and could potentially take a QB to replace him.
