@NSilverwind The reason why they are doing it doesn't matter. They could be for all people should care. We just accept what they want to be referred to as. And the fact that Yamato is fictional character also doesn't matter. Their agency as a character still matters.

@NSilverwind There are real life people that identify as men that use she/her pronouns and real life people that identify as women that use he/him pronouns. Look up things like he/him lesbians.

If you use other pronouns for them, you'd be using the wrong pronouns. Same with Yamato.

@NSilverwind Yes, he's reminding everyone Yamato is born female, just like how the "Brother of Izo" reminds people Okiku was born male. But currently in the story they no longer use those pronouns. And we use the pronouns they currently use, not what they once were.

@NSilverwind The fact that he is a girl has nothing to do with his pronouns. His preferred pronouns are he/him. Those are the only correct ones because they are the pronouns he prefers.

@NSilverwind Yes, and we respect people by referring to them as how they see themselves. That's why we use she/her for Okiku and he/him for Yamato, regardless of how the world may see them at certain points in time.

@NSilverwind It is wrong. He wants to be referred to by he/him pronouns so those are the only correct pronouns to use for him. Again, it doesn't matter if he's trans or not. This is a pronoun usage conversation, not a transness conversation.

@NSilverwind Yes, so when it doesn't contradict the material we can use it as a fun little expansion of the material. But the moment it's contradicted we can disregard. Which is the case here.

@NSilverwind The manga only has the narrator use "Kaido's daughter" but it also has the narrator use "Brother of Iso" for Okiku. So we must look at other parts of the text for pronoun usage. And the rest of the text uses she/her for Okiku and he/him for Yamato.

@NSilverwind It doesn't matter if he's pretending to be a guy or not. That is completely irrelevant to the conversation about whether he uses he/him pronouns. You don't get to decide for him what he prefers. And he prefers he/him.
