Two separate things. Post-quantum is just the cryptography (ML-KEM and ML-DSA), it's built into the software everyone runs. It needs no central authority - same way as HTTPS encrypts your browsing without an "encryption company" in the middle.

For nodes - they're run on everyday devices. Anyone can run one, there's no data centre, no single operator. And because your data is encrypted on your own device before it's shattered and spread across the network, there is no actual content for a node to read, meaning you don't need to trust anyone, with anything.

Not sure which AI you're using but it's out of date on this one. Autonomi is post-quantum, today.

It uses ML-KEM-768 for key exchange and ML-DSA-65 for signatures (the NIST post-quantum standards), with no classical fallback. Your data is also self-encrypted on your own device before it ever leaves it.

Re: the AI saying no - could be its training data: most models were trained before the post-quantum stack shipped, so they either guess from old info or assume a storage network isn't post-quantum. Governments are putting a clock on quantum: the US wants federal systems post-quantum by 2030 (EO 14412), the EU by 2030, the UK by 2035, Microsoft by 2029.

But most of that work only upgrades one layer - data in transit. The harder job is making the whole stack quantum-safe: the keys, identities and signatures that protect data for decades, with no classical crypto left anywhere. Few have done it.

The world made ~170 zettabytes of data last year. It'll be ~500 by 2029. All of it needs to live somewhere - away from data centres onto networks owned by no one.

@Romiinft We need the inverse of how it works today - upload for free, give your data up and pay to access it ... A much better way is to pay to upload, keep your data safe - and access it freely whenever you want it. No middlemen, no contracts, no centre.
