Last night, we welcomed our North Sector Commander, Sqn Ldr Jelley, and his deputy, Flt Lt Shipley, to conduct a very important interview! After lots of revising and a rigorous interview process, we are delighted to announce the promotion of Cadet Warrant Officer Tom Lane!

of both cadets and staff. His hard work and determination has allowed our cadets to have some amazing opportunities, and his efforts to make the squadron a better place never go unnoticed.

Last night we were delighted to celebrate our OC being promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer, which was presented by the North Sector Commander, Sqn Ldr Jelley.

Earlier today, 295 was joined by other cadets from across North Sector to take part in the Battle of Britain Parade in Witham Town Centre.
This year marks 83 years since the infamous battle for the skies, and we continue to remember those brave men and women who gave their lives.

They spent the day learning about different fieldcraft lessons and brought all their skills together in the afternoon in a joint exercise. During the exercise, they had to get to a location, observe the ‘enemy’, and report what they had seen and heard, all without being seen.

Yesterday, 5 of our cadets joined the Essex Wing Fieldcraft Training Day at Carver Barracks. They were joined by our very own A/Sgt Holland and Cdt FS Lane who were both teaching throughout the day.

We also had some certificates to hand out including First Class, Leading Cadet and Youth First Aid! Well done to you all!

On Thursday, we held our monthly OC’s Parade and we had lots of awards to hand out!

Congratulations to Cadet Smith T for winning Cadet of the Month and will now take on the rank of corporal during September. Well done also to Halifax Flight who won Flight of the Month!

including having to wade through chest deep bogs and marshland, but it was all worth it for some of the views!

They finished their expedition in Barmouth where they enjoyed a well-deserved fish and chips and tested out their driving skills on the dodgems!

This week, APO Cordeiro and Sgt Roberts have been at Fairbourne in North Wales completing their Gold Duke of Edinburgh qualifying expedition🥾

They endured 4 days of rough terrain, unpredictable weather and lots of hill walking! They had lots of ups and downs (quite literally)…

see another KC-135 ready to fly. They also saw plenty of fly-bys of C-130’s for special operations, VC-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft, and F-15’s! They also had the opportunity to speak to service personnel about their time in the USAF and learn more about air-to-air refuelling!

Recently, some of our cadets had the opportunity to visit the 100th Air Refuelling Wing at RAF Mildenhall with other cadets from North Sector.

Cpl Bowers and Cdt Steward are currently on a camp at RAF Cranwell with other cadets from Essex Wing. Yesterday, they had the amazing opportunity to go gliding! What a fantastic experience for these two!✈️✈️

Throughout July, 295 have participated in a number of carnivals, including Witham, Coggeshall and Brightlingsea. Our band have been practicing tirelessly for months to ensure both the drill and music is up to a good standard.

And there we have it, our final band event of the summer has come to an end! On Saturday, our band was invited to play at Brightlingsea Carnival alongside 1830 (Tendring Hundred) Squadron. As always, the band was on top form and they sounded fantastic!

The Royal Air Force Air Cadets recently changed our tactical recognition flashes to a new design. The new design replicates the colours of the RAF stable belt with the addition of an eagle and ‘RAF Air Cadets’ embroidered on the flash. We are proud to show off our new TRF’s!

295 had a very busy day today parading in the Coggeshall Carnival! Our band was on top form, and our banner party looked amazing! We had a great turnout and it was great to see so many people enjoying our music! We also had a stall to promote the squadron and raise some money.

Earlier this week, members of 295 attended the Jack Petchey Foundation’s Essex Regional Achievement Award event!

We were delighted to have three cadets and a staff member win awards which were all very well deserved! Well done to you all! @JPFoundation

On Saturday, our squadron had the privilege of leading the Witham Carnival! Our band has been practicing for months and they sounded fantastic! We also had the rest of the squadron walking alongside the minibus, which was brilliantly decorated for the ‘Safari’ theme!

Last parade night, we held another Masterchef Inter-Flight Competition! Each flight had a budget of £12.50 and had to create a three course meal for staff. We had some very interesting meals, including garlic dough balls, steak, chilli con carne, egg fried rice, and ice cream!
