The sensation of slight stinging was there as she dressed his wounds but he was too exhausted to react, even in the slightest.

The hero adjusted himself little by little, putting himself in a more comfortable position and making it easier for her to do her thing.

His eyes shifted from the very scars she tended to up to her very own.

Her remark got a slight chuckle out of him, even in his woeful state.

She was kind. And not a typical kindness one would think of either. It was different--genuine. Something he's only —

— noticed in a handful people throughout his entire life. It was comforting.

Not to mention her uncanny resemblance to someone who he stills holds dear to his heart. Though that was something he chalked up to either coincidence or his own delusion.

Hesitantly, he reached for the mask slowly peeling it off, as if most of his features weren't exposed already. The mask was basically thin string with only one eye in tact.

His face was no sight for sore eyes. Cut lip, black eye, broken nose and a swollen cheek. The whole —

Her subtle gesture of asking was met with a subtle gesture of his own. This being his tensed up self visibly loosening up, indicating she had full range to do her thing.

"Right--the suit."

Groans persisted as he sat up to remove the shredded top revealing nearly dried blood —

— and plenty of bruises. A cracked rib is also a given due to the intenseness and familiarity of the pain.

Tossing the shirt aside, the hero threw his head back down and rested an arm over the —

Nevertheless, it was one that imbued immediate trust. Something of a cheat code to break through his defensiveness.
