I welcome Japan’s decision to impose new sanctions on Russia for its war in Ukraine, including asset freezes on 33 entities and 12 individuals, export bans on 53 entities, and 335 restricted goods—a powerful step in standing up to aggression.

It is a significant blow to Russia’s military-industrial complex, limiting access to critical microelectronics and creating additional obstacles for the production of missiles and drones. By restricting Russia’s ability to manufacture tools of terror, these measures help protect Ukrainian lives and strengthen Ukraine’s defense against aggression.

Zurabishvili made an offer to Ivanishvili to schedule new elections by today, which the oligarch ignored. Their answer to my offer was "threats towards me, which were futile, their response was cynicism towards you. The answer was repression, violence, the response was actual war against own people. And the response today is the parody that is happening now, at this moment, in the parliament, this is a real parody and this state does not deserve such parodies."

There they are, locked up, scared, not recognized, sanctioned and bitter.

We are open, free, joyful, peaceful and with us is truth and love of our country, love for each other and that is why we will win.

There is emptiness over there; here is society. We are outside because we are not afraid of anything falling—not even bars.

Two main demands remain:

1. The release of all arrested protesters
2. Elections in a free environment, ensuring the following principles: vote secrecy and non-intimidation, as well as diaspora involvement, i.e., universality.

President @Zourabichvili_S pledget to work on the election document which will thoroughly outline needs and musts for free and fair elections in Georgia.

1. We must protect free media.

2. We must fight the repressive system: strengthen the funds supporting detainees, public officials who oppose the Russian system, and strenghten legal assistance.

"I will be with you until we achieve a free and dignified government."

The ruling party, which spoke to us about peace, has waged war against its own people. Not only has it initiated war, but it has also dismantled every point that could have been a unifying force—sports, culture, and the church—dividing and separating everything. This is what the enemy, Russia, has been doing for centuries: dividing this nation and society to rule and dominate. Therefore, "Georgian Dream" is a Russian tragedy. Russia will not Russia will not achieve its centuries-old ambitions in Georgia.

Next steps:

The president is initiating large-scale meetings with various segments of society:

1. Business representatives to discuss how to prevent an economic crisis
2. Public officials to find ways to protect them from repression within government institutions
3. New political forces engaged in the nonstop protest
4. People in the regions working for change in their cities and leading protest actions
5. International partners and politicians outside the country to convey the demands of the Georgian people (official visits).

Although she mentioned there is no time for New Year's holidays due to all that’s happening, she reiterated her invitation for people to join her in celebrating New Year's Eve together at Rustaveli.
