There is no more powerful, legitimate political weapon than well-executed ridicule.
This brilliant dude should take his act from Durham, NH, to every state legislature and town council in the country that behaves similarly. I could keep his schedule booked for years in Illinois alone.
When your real estate friend says: “I haven’t paid taxes in 4 years.”
You think "oh wow this person must have a great CPA and a ton of tax deductions"
Then they say: “No… I just didn’t pay.”
@AccountingToday 124,000 openings a year? Sounds like a great time to be a retiring Boomer CPA… and a terrible time to be the Gen Z kid who thinks 'work-life balance' means logging off at 4:59 PM on April 14th :)
Hey folks! Don’t let the 1099 deadline sneak up like a bad ex at tax time. If you paid contractors $600+ in 2025, 1099-NEC forms are due February 2, 2026 (since January 31 falls on a Saturday).
For 1099-MISC, recipient copies are also due February 2. IRS filing is due March 2, 2026 if filing by paper (Feb 28 is a Saturday), or March 31, 2026 if filing electronically.
Tip: Gather W-9 early - avoid the "Whoops, wrong address!" panic! Tip: Use software to track payments; it's like having a robot sidekick minus the rebellion. Stressed? Contact us at [email protected] for magical accounting help! #TaxHumor #1099Deadline
