Gureet Jeetesh, an Indian national, was arrested last night in Coventry, UK, for grooming multiple minor girls online and attempting to meet them.
He was arrested by police after being confronted by a vigilante group. He had arrived in the UK on a student visa twelve weeks ago and was residing in student accommodation.
He has since been evicted from his residence and detained.
Hindutva elements and media spread that 12-year-old Srabanti Ghosh was raped and killed by Islamist in Bangladesh.
Many of the posts indirectly portrayed the incident as a communal issue.
Police and RAB arrested the house owner Pradeep Lal Ghosh and neighbor Ajoy Singh after the deceased girl's mother filed a case against them.
During initial interrogation, they admitted to being at the scene. Whether they were involved in the incident will be revealed during the police investigation.
What we understand from this: the deceased family suspects the house owner and a neighbor, both of whom are Hindus.
The family did not claim anything communal, unlike the Hindutva narratives circulating online.
So be aware of Hindutva propaganda and Godi media’s framing about Bangladesh affairs.
Summary: Shrabonti Ghosh was found hanging in her room. It is suspected that she may have been raped and killed by unknown individuals. Hindutva elements quickly spread communal propaganda after the incident surfaced, before any facts about the perpetrators were known. Shrabonti’s mother suspects the house owner where they live and a neighbor. Both have been arrested and the police are investigating and interrogating them to determine their involvement in this heinous incident.

🚨 The JF-17 Block III features an impressive loadout ensuring it can be used as a workhorse for the Bangladesh Air Force in missions such as Combat Air Patrol, Close Air Support, Suppression of Enemy Air Defences, Maritime Strike, Electronic Warfare, and more while still being cost effective.
There are several advantages to procuring the JF-17 Block III:
- Its available to be delivered in the shortest possible time.
- Bangladesh Air Force can lease several JF-17s from the Pakistan Air Force to fulfil shortfalls in its air defence capabilities. The BAF previously leased some Chinese FT-7s for the same purposes so the precedence is there.
- Pilot training will be convenient as the BAF and PAF share DNA, traditions, and many SOPs.
- Infrastructure development will be minimal because the aircraft is designed to be operated in challenging support environments unlike most Western fighters such as EFT, which requires heavy maintenance support including purpose-built hangers.
- Is the cheapest to roll out not only initially, but over the cost of its operational life compared to medium and heavy multirole fighters.
- The Bangladesh Air Force can obtain technical know-how by allowing Pakistan Air Force technicians to be embedded with its MRUs.
- The JF-17 Block III can be armed with Mk 82/83 GPBs, C-series anti-ship missiles, LS-6 PGMs, rockets, cluster/anti-runway munitions that are already in service with the Bangladesh Air Force.
- Turkish aerial munitions such as Teber or AAMs can also be integrated in the future.
- We believe the BAFs aged F-7MB aircraft will be replaced first, which is about 16 aircraft. More squadrons will be ordered gradually with potential for 48 units totalling 3 squadrons of 16 aircraft each.
- The air force will also add J-10CEs to replace F-7BG/BG1s (another 20 aircraft initially but ultimately at least two squadrons).
- Finally the Eurofighter Typhoon will replace the MiG-29BMs, with the MiGs being sent to Chattogram for maritime strike and air superiority role along the Myanmar border and Bay of Bengal region.
