This is a real sentence from DOJ's legal filing this weekend: "although ballot mail does not present the same operational issues as cremated remains or replica explosives, it is sensitive mail that raises unique operational considerations."
BREAKING: A federal judge is ordering the Trump administration to pay millions of dollars to multiple nonprofit groups after determining the administration violated the terms of a temporary restraining order regarding freezing foreign aid. https://t.co/3Dpwg50lC6
Yet even more firings of nonpartisan, patriotic DOJ prosecutors and senior FBI officials simply for doing their job.
If you don’t realize that Trump is trying to take full control of our government, you aren’t paying attention.
Yet congressional Republicans just sit and watch.
🚨NEW: Elon Musk has falsely accused Lt. Colonel Alexander Vindman of working for a Ukrainian oligarch, threatening a charge of treason and even potentially the death penalty.
RETWEET if you stand with Lt. Colonel Vindman against these disgusting attacks!
Mexican President Sheinbaum fires back at Trump in a statement: "Seventy percent of the illegal weapons seized from criminals in Mexico come from your country. We do not produce these weapons, nor do we consume synthetic drugs. Tragically, it is in our country that lives are lost to the violence resulting from meeting the drug demand in yours."
2020
Biden: 81 million votes
Trump: 74 million votes
2024
Trump: 71 million votes
Harris: 66 million votes
These numbers do not match up with either the empty Trump rallies or the packed Harris rallies, and she should definitely not too quickly concede.
Trump's "secret plan" with Mike Johnson to steal the election is more devious than you probably think. It's not just electing Trump via the House. It's decreasing the overall number of electoral votes until Trump wins a majority.
I explain in @thenation:

By now we all know: Donald Trump and Mike Johnson have cooked up a ‘little secret’ related to the election. While @ElieNYC is, clearly, not privy to the conversations between Trump, Johnson, and Beelzebub, here's his theory as to what they're up to.

There’s no such thing as a border czar.
But there was a border bill.
Republicans worked with Democrats on border security, then Trump killed it because he has no intention of solving the problem.

This is the text of the Post columnists' statement, for those hitting the paywall:
The Washington Post’s decision not to make an endorsement in the presidential campaign is a terrible mistake. It represents an abandonment of the fundamental editorial convictions of the newspaper that we love. This is a moment for the institution to be making clear its commitment to democratic values, the rule of law and international alliances, and the threat that Donald Trump poses to them — the precise points The Post made in endorsing Trump’s opponents in 2016 and 2020. There is no contradiction between The Post’s important role as an independent newspaper and its practice of making political endorsements, both as a matter of guidance to readers and as a statement of core beliefs. That has never been more true than in the current campaign. An independent newspaper might someday choose to back away from making presidential endorsements. But this isn’t the right moment, when one candidate is advocating positions that directly threaten freedom of the press and the values of the Constitution.

“Jeff Bezos, one of the world’s richest men, fears that one of his hundreds of companies might suffer financially under a Trump presidency unless he grovels before Trump. That’s all it takes to break Bezos: fear of losing a small slice of his obscene fortune.
What a small and pathetic man!” — @rbhubbell (10/26/24)
