Fantastic villains but terrible people to the protagonist so it’s impossible to “like” her as a person. 99.9% of CSM fan will say Makima is a top 3 character and is a pretty bad example tbh.

@MaxGree12757045 @serketmaxxing I’d argue it was foreshadowed since Part 1, we just didn’t see it at the time because of the framing/context. Denji’s “I want to be chainsaw man” moment was framed positively cuz the alternative was Makima World Order, but once that threat was gone we see his mentality unravel.

@Rei_rei_suruyo @LupusLunaraDTD That being said being in the fandom while MCA was airing weekly was one of the gates of hell. It was a bunch of genuine criticism mixed in with people getting mad at smear frames and shit that didn’t matter. Just a very unfun time overall so you didn’t miss out on that lol

@Rei_rei_suruyo @LupusLunaraDTD Honestly pre-MCA it wasn’t that bad. It was mostly just art and people theorizing about the manga and novels with what few fan translations there were. What kind of broke the fandom permanently was just MCA and the ramifications it had on the story, plus the general reception.
