We are currently building the capacities of 25 Women Journalists from the Print, Broadcast and Online News outlets on Gender Sensitive reporting and Ethical Journalism on Sexual and Gender Based Violence . The training aims to improve the representation of women on the news.

Earlier today our Executive Board member @KBokum_ represented the association to a partnership meeting with #YoMIL Gambia. During the meeting she discussed WoJAG’s interest to collaborate with industry players to continue amplifying the voices of Gambian #women and girls.

We’re wrapping up our @PRJ_Gambia sponsored mentorship session with a debriefing and an educative session with Commissioner @YaAmie_Touray of the Access to Information Commission. Ms. Touray took mentees through Digital Rights, Cyber Harassment, Bullying and Digital Footprint.

The girls Booth Camp was well done with @camara_muso and @Emuloshi! The session was on Women in Media. Both Annette and Muloshi provided valuable insights in motivating girls to find a career paths in media.

Later today, our President Ms. Annette Camara will be joining Catch Them Young- The Gambia to a girls Career booth Camp on STEM and Life skills.

Apart from the training, we had an opportunity to hear from two phenomenal women Meita Touray a journalism Trainer at MAJaC and Sala the proprietor of Voice Out Digital (VOD). The duo shared life experiences growing in the media and how young journalists can strive in the Media.

It was a successful second engagement on the 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 that we are currently running at WoJAG. The project is staged with funding from @PRJ_Gambia .

Today we were able to get 𝐀𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐬-𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐢, Director of West Africa Democracy Radio (WADR) to train our mentee on the Role of Female Journalists on Community Engagement and Impact Journalism. 𝐀𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐬 is also Mentoring two young journalists in the program.
