Winter Fest spirit was in full flow in the DT Department this week, with students creating Memphis Group inspired clocks. Students designed their own clocks using acrylics and adhesive, broadening their knowledge of Bauhaus and Memphis design styles. #Engage#Elevate
Winter Fest theme - ‘Engage & Elevate’, focusing upon enriching curriculum experiences. Alongside our fantastic Astronomy sessions, @360xperiences provided a mobile planetarium for some students to experience. Thank you Friends of Woking High School for funding this activity.
Winter Fest-Y10 took part in alternative sports-flag football, tchoukball, boxercise & pickleball to broaden their physical education experience & encourage lifelong participation in diverse activities. Sports promote teamwork, skill development & fitness in fun, inclusive ways.
‘Engage and Elevate’. In History, students participated in a workshop where they designed Medieval Castles. Brilliant creativity was presented, students used maths skills to purchase castle parts, whilst also developing their design skills in the creation of medieval structures.
To enrich critical thinking and problem solving skills, our young people engaged with some challenging puzzle solving this week at Winter Fest. Delivered by @happypuzzle, the students were working to the clock in this brilliantly engaging workshop! Such fun! #Engage#Elevate
As part of Winter Fest, Year 7 students participated in our annual Coin Challenge to raise funds for Friends of Woking High School. They did a ‘sterling’ job! #Engage#Elevate
At Winter Fest, some of our Year 8 Computing students ventured to the ground-breaking Bletchley Park. This really was such a fascinating opportunity to experience the estate that was the top-secret home of Britain’s World War II codebreakers! #Engage#Elevate

Last week saw the first exhilarating round of the Young Chef Competition during Winter Fest. Students dazzled with the preparation of a two-course meal-a main & a delectable dessert! Dishes were judged on presentation, creativity, taste, and nutritional value. #Engage#Elevate
Our MFL Department delivered wonderful sessions at Winter Fest. The students were set the task of designing a new country, considering the language, flag and governance. What a fantastic challenge! #Engage#Elevate
At Winter Fest, some of our students with SEND attended a relaxed performance in the mobile planetarium. Watching a film about oceans and reefs was a beautiful experience, and was thoroughly mesmerising. #Engage#Elevate
English Dept. delivered two highly engaging activities at Winter Fest. Y9 were introduced to Gothic Literature exploring ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’. Y10s watched the critically acclaimed ‘Romeo and Juliet’ via National Theatre Collection digital platform. #Engage#Elevate
Rap School returned for Winter Fest last week. In keeping with our theme ‘Engage and Elevate’, students developed literacy skills, writing & performing their own raps on issues that are important to them. The rap artists were outstanding, as were our students! #Engage#Elevate
