@CelesteDiWind@hakwanlau I was wondering the same thing, but then recalled 'insects are conscious' statements. Although I agree that they *may* be conscious (to speculate from a chair with a whiskey), you cannot make such a claim at all at the moment, and it seems to stimulate unscientific thinking.
Saturday evening. Thousands gather in front of the criminal Netanyahu's house to protest for the hostages and call for peace! We need better leaders. Down with this horrible, racist , militant government. Peace!
more jobs: postdoc openings in Korea, w/ *pathway to independence*. the ideal candidate has experience in calcium/optical imaging or electrophysiology in behaving mice, & has strong interests in the prefrontal cortex, perception (any modality), and/or neurovascular coupling... 1/
📢I am hiring a PhD candidate! Are you passionate about unraveling the mysteries of consciousness? And do you want to delve into fMRI, pupillometry, and information theory to understand how sensory predictions shape our perception of color? Apply here: https://t.co/KsTqpZA5tX
🧠🎉 Super excited to see my work with the incomparable @BiyuHe out in JCoN!!! A short 🧵below on the neural mechanisms determining the duration of spontaneous perceptual behavior (1/8) https://t.co/mzJrL5s9cn
Excited to share new work with @DobyRahnev where we test convolutional neural networks on a range of perceptual tasks involving stimulus energy manipulations (joint changes in stimulus intensity and variability): https://t.co/62KDTrniCV

I'd like to thank all those who wrote me letters. I'm beyond grateful to my past and present mentors, mentees, colleagues and peers who have inspired and challenged me, and made me into a better scientist.
If we had used/start using "theory" (vs "hypothesis") more appropriately, would this have saved us a lot of unnecessary (twitter) drama? And how many "theories" of consciousness would there still be?
Excited to be at #SfN23#SfN2023! I'll be presenting a poster on the EEG correlates of normative belief updates on Monday 13th, with @spk3lly and @neuromurphy. Board TT17, 4-5pm - come say hi!
