Alright everyone, I need help. I have a pretty difficult decision to make, and I'd like everyone's thoughts on it. I know large-text posts like this are taboo for Twitter, but I needed to give the context.
@Muaddibisme@AncapAir I can help other people, and defend what's mine all at the same time.
I can't help others if I have nothing in the first place to give. I can't open my home to someone in need, if I don't have a home. I can't hand out food, if I don't have food.
@Muaddibisme@Congressizazzho@AncapAir Almost the entirety of human history is people growing uncomfortable with the "currently" world they live in, and doing what they can to change it.
The world today operates as they described. Slaves vote for their masters, and in doing so, enslave those who didn't vote.
@Muaddibisme@AncapAir Legality is not morality.
Right/Wrong is not determined or dictated by one person(s), even if they attempt to define it in "law." Meaning, "Rights" DO NOT come from Gov. and it's laws.
My property is rightfully my property, and I am right to defend it, regardless of any law.
@Muaddibisme@AncapAir I didn't vote on anything, nor did I choose a representative to do so.
All of that was done by other people long before I was alive.
Consent is not retroactive.
@HootOrbo@Sierrathefurry It's a tool that helps a person easily get the idea in their head out and into a tangible medium. It's an incredibly advanced brush simply lowering the barrier to entry for creativity. Not saying there aren't issues like data centers, but I find the rampant fear morning cringe.
@clucuc@FightWithMemes Imagine thinking people can just ignore who they fall for, and not chase something beautiful just because people on the Internet might think the height difference weird...π
@benonwine I agree dude, but I gotta say I should not have to scroll down this far to find other people's comments and not you commenting to yourself.
You good?
@Scullyy02 @MikeyMacDee@TheBattlecock "used intimidation and that's (making it unlawful)." Again, I hope you carry that sentiment towards our government, as they've done that exact same thing countless times.
And, to be really honest, it IS wrong, but what is wrong is not always "unlawful."
@Scullyy02 @MikeyMacDee@TheBattlecock They were the authority in Germany. Like how Trump/Biden/Obama/Clinton/Bush/etc.. are/were the authority in the US.
"..had no authority outside of Germany."
I hope you carry that same sentiment towards our Presidents when they bomb other countries.
@MikeyMacDee @Scullyy02 @TheBattlecock I didn't say the arrest was unlawful, it's the law that those are not legal in NYC w/o proper permission.
My point is just because something is lawful, doesn't mean it's moral. Law =\= right/wrong. Just because it's someone's job to enforce law doesn't excuse the wrong they do.
@Scullyy02 @MikeyMacDee@TheBattlecock I'm pointing out a flaw in the logic. The "just following orders" excuse, regardless of the severity of the situation, is a terrible argument.
Also, It always starts with small inconveniences, then becomes grave violations.
@MikeyMacDee@TheBattlecock I love this logic. Don't blame the actual person violating you, they're just following orders.
Cool, so Nazi soldiers were just following orders, they hold no blame for anything πππ
