From a young age most men are shown and told that the only acceptable way to express anything emotional is through anger. That is what I consider toxic masculinity.

Shutting off your own emotions when someone is trying to express theirs to you is not ok. It's toxic, manipulative and just plain cruel.

Since when is being a sociopath a good thing? Being able to cut off your emotions is not an admirable quality imo. Our emotions are what makes us human.

If I'm feeling something I let it out. Even if it's a negative emotion I still express it as best I can. Granted sometimes my emotions get the better of me but I would rather have that than none at all.
