@empress11218@dtbrex I’ve struggled to understand how people who are able to apply a spectrum system to gender, sexuality, etc. balk at applying a spectrum to political ideologies on the opposite side of their own.
So often it’s “the specific beliefs I’m comfortable with” or “Nazi”.
@stonewall_saxon It’s from the Drummer/vocalist of Antichrist Siege Machine, if that matters to you at all, and it sounds absolutely nothing like that at all lol. Very melodic, like a slowed down more bittersweet Nimbifer, maybe? Not exactly that, but in that ballpark.
@dxmtsuya Always been in the “favorite album” tier for me. Nothing quite like it, and the fact that no one has ever been able to replicate or even approach its sound despite how popular it is just highlights how special it really is.
It's an extremely small chance that any band on earth would put together a truly fantastic top-to-bottom discography.
Fucking Nordvrede/Kaevum did it twice, different drummers aside. Two separate 10-20 year careers of excellence? It's fucking ridiculous.
Last one for the night:
Valery Gergiev conducting the Kirov Orchestra for Starvinsky's Rite of Spring, the the track was The Introduction of "The Sacrifice". When that dissonant descending part drops after that tense buildup, there's nothing else that feels quite like it.
I like putting my whole digital library on shuffle when I can't think of what I want to listen to. I'll do a little thread thread of what comes up for fun. The first song is a bit too on brand:
Bilskirnir - Title track from 'In Flames of Purification'
Ånd - "Schatten" from the album 'Aeternus'. They were labeled as post black metal at the time and I guess I get it, but it never felt inauthentic or modern for its own sake. Good album.
@BlkMetalEnjoyer@AmilkarR82 This actually prompted me to check out their store and found they had a copy of the Aryan Art box set, and with DTB down for now, that was an easy buy.
@Erik_Quill An all-timer. They had a few individual bright spots on the album after this as well, but they never could recapture this magic, which is too bad.
