@LuciamaTaymyok Nothing -absolutely nothing- will make me interested in "James Bond" again until the events of N,TTD are officially denied. Not even if Pierce returns. Not even if Campbell directs or Feirstein writes.
Bond ended with DAD and EoN (or FRWL) counting the games.
@LuciamaTaymyok@SpyHards Not to mention... all the Cringe films will be officially made unofficial. Stripped from all the Bond IP (007 logo, gunbarrel, JBT, references to Cubby and Fleming in the credits). Cease home video production of them, too.
@LuciamaTaymyok@SpyHards -Reinstate Brosnan as Bond.
-...in a film where it is specifically stated that the "James Bond" who killed himself used a codename.
-Bond wins, gets the girl, survives.
-Replace the JAMES BOND WILL RETURN line for JAMES BOND NEVER DIES, to ensure no one screws it up.
@LuciamaTaymyok I was the first to complain of the out of place gunbarrel in CR and the gunbarrels to the end and the lack of JBT. Now I wish they had used a wholly new indicia created by MGW and BB for the reboot era.
@LuciamaTaymyok But, honestly, I wish they hadn't used any of the Bond elements. Feels like a cheap cash-in and the acknowledgement that without the 007 logo, the JB theme or the gunbarrel, there'd be nothing to associate it to Bond.
@LuciamaTaymyok They are already pissing on DAD's legacy.
-The "mission in Iceland" was a failure.
-It's followed by a "beginning of bxnd"
-The rebooted bxnd does it great.
Follow?
@LuciamaTaymyok Goes to show the hypocrisy of the fandom. They spent ages whining about the "Robocop suit" and diminishing how a great villain Moon/Graves is because of that, and now they are all fascinated with that.
@LuciamaTaymyok@DoubleODispatch@JBEON04 M:I The Final Reckoning did the exact opposite: making you think they'll craig Ethan Hunt, and then he makes it alive and well.
I have my few complaints of the film, though. But I like how they concluded the Hunt arc.
@LuciamaTaymyok@DoubleODispatch@JBEON04 Remember, Cringe's last three films cashed in with nostalgia after rejecting it in the first two films. Q and Moneypenny, the DB5, gadgets, enemy with a huge base, more action... and then they screw the real Bond fans up.
@DoubleODispatch@LuciamaTaymyok@JBEON04 What I liked of CR the novel is that, despite the ending is a downer, Bond swears he'll go after the threat behind the threat. It makes him a man determined to bring SMERSH down and he does, clinically, novel after novel.
@LuciamaTaymyok I respect OHMSS because Fleming wrote it that way and they followed it as it was. It's one of my least rewatched Bond films, though. But the way they ripped it off in N,TTD did piss me off. They stole something it belonged to Bond and Tracy, not bxnd and Madelame.
On this day in 1908, Ian Fleming was born – journalist, banker, naval officer, intelligence man, and writer. But above all, a man who felt undeniably authentic.
Revisiting his books feels almost refreshing.
Here's to you, Commander Fleming!
May God have you in His glory.
