Wolves have ruled TJ Shannon (left hip) as OUT for tonight's game in New Orleans -- 3rd straight game TJ has missed.

[Alan Horton @WolvesRadio]

@joeshrimpshack @wccoradio @DAZN Nothing wrong with that opinion. Just treat it like a regular season game, which it is.

[Alan Horton @WolvesRadio]

“We wanna win this Cup. We’ve never won our Group & I feel like this is one of our best chances.”

-Jaylen Clark on NBA Cup game tonight vs. Pelicans.

6:30 PM Pre/7:10 PM Tip — @wccoradio @DAZN

[Alan Horton @WolvesRadio]

Counter: MIN's 6 closest opponents are all in the East.

MEM has NOP-OKC-DAL-SAS-HOU all closer than MIN's closest West opp.

[Drew Hill @DrewHill_DM]

Kevin makes solid points here.

Memphis is further east, with a tv market that stretches east. Memphis has longer flights west. Seems straightforward.

[Alan Horton @WolvesRadio]

After 10 years, 8 months & 13 days the streak is finally over.

The Wolves have beaten Marcus Smart.

He had won 13 consecutive meetings vs. MIN.

It's Wolves 1st win vs. Smart since Feb 22, 2016.

[Alan Horton @WolvesRadio]

LaMelo vs. Rockets...

[Alan Horton @WolvesRadio]

Wolves trailed by 3 midway through the 4th...

Then they outscored the Rockets 26-13 over the final 7 minutes.

[Alan Horton @WolvesRadio]

Jonathan Kuminga's monster night vs. Rockets...

16 PTS | 4/7 3PT | 8 RBS | 5 ASTS | 1 STL | 1 BLK | +6

...and in clutch time had 8pts on 3/3 FG & 2/2 3PT.

[Alan Horton @WolvesRadio]

Chris Finch was asked postgame if a win like this means anything this early in the season...

"Absolutely, yeah. In the West the difference b/w a play-in game & the 6 spot or even the 4 spot might be a game or two. It's just gonna be so close, all these games matter. This is an outstanding team, they've been playing some of the best basketball in the league & we've been trying to reinvent ourselves since Anthony went down & every time you get a win like this it builds confidence in what you're trying to do."

[Alan Horton @WolvesRadio]

Jonathan Kuminga had 16p 8r 5a & tied his career-high with 4-3PTM tonight.

I asked Chris Finch pregame about JK's confidence shooting that shot...

"We told him take all the open 3's that come your way. When he does something quick, & usually when you're quick you're committed to it & you've got confidence in what you're about to do, it works out well. When he shoots that shot, it looks like it's going in to me & we just keep telling him to keep teeing it up."

Postgame I asked JK about it...

"Preseason I think I was kinda hesitant to shoot the ball and he told me to just let it fly."

As for his 2 clutch corner-3ptrs in front of Wolves bench tonight?

"It felt great. The support of my guys behind me, they give me more confidence cause every time I catch the ball they're all screaming to shoot the ball."

[Minnesota Timberwolves @Timberwolves]

who’s tuning in on @WolvesRadio & @DAZN ?

[Alan Horton @WolvesRadio]

@tomdierberger @SInow @NBA @bball_ref Good catch Tom. I brought this to league’s attention when he came to MIN in 2022, they said they will NOT change it — even though it seems like an easy fix — that it happened too long ago.
