@hozzered@DAZN_NationalLg It’s far from perfect but this is proof that the English football pyramid is unrivalled across the world when it comes to organised sports. It needs to be protected at all costs
This is a start. But only a start. Fosun have the chance to prove this is a serious reset and not just a move to counter some bad PR. Start sufficiently replacing the experience Wolves have lost over the past 5-6 years by appointing a proper exec team, not just a new chairman.
Nathan Shi is to be appointed as interim executive chairman of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club.
Jeff Shi has stepped down from his role as executive chairman. He will remain chairman and CEO of Fosun Sports Group, and will have no operational duties relating to Wolves.

Fosun are a private sector company. If they were serious about investing in Molineux and the council weren’t playing ball, they’d have been lobbying hard - not waiting to be asked in an ad-hoc radio interview. Shi is using using the council as a shield for Fosun’s lack of action.
@wolvespremier There were three “pin this on the wall and we’ll come back to it later moments”. 1) no job losses, 2) RE will be here for at least three years (an unrealistic promise that didn’t need to be said), 3) investment in Wolves Women (again, won’t happen when budgets need to be cut)
@GrantRous@Wolves Grant - we listened. Fans (some, not all) were receptive to it because we were told it was a means of growing revenue for the betterment of the football club. We’re now told this has nothing to do with the football club or associated revenue. Your post is poorly timed.
@ESWolves_star @LiamKeen_Star There so many ifs and maybes behind this statement for him to hide behind, including using the council as a shield for when inevitably nothing gets done.
@MrRyanLeister It’s not so much that he did the interview - fans have largely been asking for better communication. It was the arrogant and delusional manager of it. He needed to come out and say “yeah, we get it, we’ve messed up, and this is how we’re going to fix it”.
@bbcwm Also Jeff in his open letter last year: “If a club can’t find a way to be self-sufficient sooner or later, then the day its owner stops funding is literally the day it starts to prepare for administration or to be sold.”
Misconception?…
@nickgoff79 I’d say he gets a pass, of sorts, because the transfer activity doesn’t have his finger prints on it. But he said little to convince me that he’s not the latest in a string of overpromoted personnel in key positions. He was put in a tough position here, as you say.
@paul_worton@wolvespremier@miketaylorsport Jackson is the latest in a string of overpromoted personnel in important football and non-football positions. This interview did nothing to convince me otherwise.
@stevedthomas@wolvespremier@miketaylorsport I thought the question: “Why do Fosun own Wolves and what do they want from it?” was very cleverly worded and one Shi struggled to answer coherently.
@wolvespremier@miketaylorsport A further point on e-sports in his lame attempt to deflection criticism…We were originally told that e-sports, Wolves Records etc. were means of creating additional all-important revenue for the football club. Now they’re entirely separate other than sharing a badge 🤷♂️
I see plenty of merit in appointing Rob Edwards.
However, “knows the club” is one of the strangest justifications for appointing a manager.
It’s been nearly a decade since he worked at Wolves, almost two since he played for us.
We were a completely different club back then…
