Listen everyone, the vaccines work.
They’re gonna prevent my mom from getting seriously ill or dying. They don’t prevent transmission. You still have to mask up, avoid crowds, and hand wash frequently. Don’t inadvertently infect a loved one (or a stranger for that matter).
My 99-year-old home bound grandmother, 2 weeks shy of her 100th birthday, has tested positive for COVID. She was infected by my fully vaccinated mother who also tested positive.
You can still contract and transmit COVID after vaccination. Be careful. Prayers appreciated.
My wish is for everyone to see and humanize these women. They were working so hard to survive and provide for their families and loved ones. They were someone’s mother or aunt or daughter or niece....and loved.

Stop Asian Hate means stop the violence. Stop the systems of harm. That means learn about the harm embedded in your language, your jokes, your lyrics, your movies, your headlines.
That means protect elders, protect sex workers, protect small business owners.

@JessalynSmall@criptheirvote It’s awful that all these ‘work from home’ policies could have changed the lives of so many disabled years ago. These companies could have made a huge societal change. They chose not to.
While everyone is getting all excited for things starting to open back up, disabled people are terrified that the new ways in which we've finally been included through accessible measures during the pandemic will disappear again as quickly as they were implemented.
