In our efforts to increase women's participation in decision making, we have collaborated with @IRIglobal for a series of programs, to provide mentorship and training to the aspiring future women leaders of our party, targeting the upcoming local council elections 2026.

We extend our appreciation to the International Republican Institute for their invaluable contribution to the development of high-caliber leaders.

Former Deputy Speaker of the People’s Majlis, Chair of the Maldives Policy Think Tank and Women Democrat, @evattey,  attended as the Guest of Honor and spoke at the convocation at the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies, where she also awarded distinctions to students. A total 242 students were awarded Certificates, Diplomas, Higher Diplomas, Postgraduate Diplomas at the convocation.

Here, chief guest of the convocation, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya also emphasized the importance of aligning foreign policy with national interests and economic stabilization.

12 female candidates? Yes. This is the most number of female candidates reported to have acquired parliamentary tickets from a party, in the democratic history of Maldives. We couldn't be more proud of our women Dems. 💯
