Any women TOs on the timeline that would take something on freelance?
Disclaimer: this is NOT for epic games, it’s for a friend that does 3rd party Fortnite tournaments
the women’s scene deserves better. the women’s scene deserves better. the women’s scene deserves better. the women’s scene deserves better. the women’s scene deserves better. the women’s scene deserves better. the women’s scene deserves better. the women’s scene deserves bett
after the last event we put on during women's history month (thank you epic + psyonix!), getting pregnant (hi, it's widow) put a small bump into a lot of the plans we had.
2024 will not be the same.
women and non-binary players deserve a home here that isn't taken advantage of.
the state of RL being a safe space for women and non-binary players in the gaming scene has constantly taken so many hits this year that it is genuinely disheartening.
WIRL was started to try to combat that & then some hiccups got in the way.
we are working to fix that.
Update since G1 are blocking everyone:
As of 2 nights ago, WCB teams started to receive payments from G1 after months of waiting & delays. Staff & freelancers are still waiting for the money they are owed. If G1 thinks that paying players will make us quiet, they are wrong.
Teams are receiving money via paypal instead of wire. Whilst this may not seem like a big deal, It means fees & they *could* try and take the money back whenever they want in the first 180 days. We always specifically ask for wire for this reason and received via paypal regardless, which is just great 😃
I wouldn't normally complain about paypal, but since its G1 and they aren't trustworthy at all, it's worth noting.
I still have 0 interest in playing in future WCB seasons, the league is effectively dead to me. Ik a lot of players share that sentiment. Even if staff were paid, and it were to come under new ownership, it would 100% need an entire rebrand & restructure and at that point it would take less time & money to create a new league from scratch.
Lets hope 2024 sees more stability. 2023 has been so stressful its genuinely a joke at this point. I'll be honest its gotten to a point where I am mentally at my fucking limit 💀
daily reminder, rocket league is for everyone, gaming is for everyone, esports is for everyone <3

women’s history month is almost over! after putting on a women’s event earlier this month for @WomenInRL backed by psyonix, watching an amazing event by @Ally & @RaidiantGG & seeing so many incredible women play & have a safe space, this feels important: we’re not going anywhere.
