We organized the Women's Marches in Toronto in 2017 and 2018. Join us in our in our efforts to continue to advocate, resist, support and fight for justice.
It might be confusing, so we’re here to clear the air. We are NOT affiliated with Women’s March Canada and we’ve outlined our reasons in this statement: https://t.co/qtF6mCs8Y7 but will also do so here in a thread. 1/11
FYI, @WomenMarchOnTO has disbanded. We won't be organizing a march this January. Please continue to support other actions in the city! 🙏🏽https://t.co/ttlV7FM9GC
This is a good list. I would add always had cab fare ready so if you're have to leave you will not hesitate. Trust your gut and leave if things don't feel okay of you can. You are not ruining the holidays by having boundaries, you are setting example for others of self love.
"What would our society look like if we recognized misogyny as an ideology, one that is a deadly threat to half the population?"
@lizrenzetti is so brilliant at laying out why we need to call violent misogyny what it is — terrorism

Today communities will hold memorials for the 30th anniversary of École Polytechnique massacre in 1989 where 14 women were killed. #Dec6
Go to a vigil, take a moment of silence, check in with survivors (including yourself) and donate to a local org. #30YearsAndStillCounting
Sending immense love to staff in rape crisis centres, violence against women shelters, as well as lawyers, advocates and educators who are participating in memorials tomorrow for École Polytechnique massacre. I hope you have time to mourn, grieve and rest. #Dec6
Last night, I hosted an event @torontolibrary and I made a statement about TPL's decision to rent space to a well known anti-trans activist. The video will be posted on TPL's YouTube channel. In the meantime, you can read my statement here: https://t.co/iJVeLXgfgz
As we reach the end of #elxn43, let's take a minute to remember who we're voting for. Yes the leaders, yes the parties. But really, it's the people working hard to hopefully represent you in Ottawa as your MP. Here are 5 women I'd love for you to meet https://t.co/RKXFbJI4v6 1/3
BREAKING: A new city report shows that Premier Doug Ford is cutting $15 million to Toronto child care as of Jan 1 (& even more in future yrs), putting at risk over 750 affordable child care spaces. Send a message demanding he stop the cuts https://t.co/BzeYcbLsip #topoli#onpoli
Powerful, touching and a heartbreakingly beautiful vigil. Together we honoured the lives of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, trans and 2 spirit people. #SistersInSpirit#MMIWG#MMIWG2S
I’ve been working in Cdn women’s media about as long as @JustinTrudeau’s been in power. Throughout, I’ve wanted to know: *IS* Canada a better place for women with a self-handled feminist for a PM? I break it down for @FLAREfashion, just in time for #elxn43 https://t.co/hJpCqVMpo5
As a person who lives her life witnessing the worst parts about the internet (hello, I’m a social media editor!) I’ve been trying to process why that clip of Shane Gillis and Matt McCusker saying blatantly racist things about Chinese folks and Chinatown stings so much. (1/9)
In case it wasn't clear from the type of harassment that climate leaders like Greta Thunberg & Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have had to endure—several new studies show demonstrable link between climate denial & misogyny. It all comes back to patriarchy. https://t.co/F9CJqwzZSF
On Friday September 27th, join us at #TakeBacktheNight 2019 in Toronto. Hosted by @trccmwar, there will be a rally at 7pm and the march begins at 8pm. ✊🏽
Please attend this peaceful vigil on July 12th at the Toronto Courthouse to protest the horrific conditions of detention camps along the US southern border. https://t.co/sPTaKxAvJu
Powerful piece by @TanyaTalaga, in which she calls out our paper. “The editorial board is the voice of the paper, but I, an Anishinaabe kwe and Polish Canadian, am also a voice at the Star. The editorial did not speak for me.”
Nor me. https://t.co/4zDBPJoc6K via @TorontoStar
