It is with a heavy heart that we share some sad news with you. Longtime mentor, Judy Phelps of Santa Paula, California, passed away in May 2026 from an illness. See further text in the comments below.

Judy began mentoring at GirlVenture Camp in 2012, and provided many years of positive encouragement for the attendees in addition to her fabulous teaching skills provided in the Mentor-Led Workshops.

GirlVenture Camp Day 4: Women in Aviation International breakfast! The girls listened to Alaina Lewis of Culver Prop (on the right) chat about her family’s business making wood propellers. Alaina ran the wood prop shaping workshop for us on Monday!
