We are thrilled that Dr Amy Thunig is coming to talk to members and guests on 16 February 2023. Dr Thunig is a Gomeroi/Gamilaroi/Kamilaroi yinarr woman and mother who resides on Awabakal Country. Her recent book, 'Tell Me Again' is a compelling read.
Book your spot at the Jessie Street National Women's Library talk with Amy Thunig (16 Feb). Email [email protected] by 13 Feb. The talk will begin at 12.15. $16 ($20 for non-members) incl a light lunch.
While her childhood was marked by poverty and hardship, the enduring love and support from her family is part of her story too.
We welcome guests and so make space in your calendar for Dr Thunig's talk at midday on 16 Feb at the Customs House Library.

Fabulous to have @sammostyn address our 2022 Annual Luncheon yesterday where she spent time talking with our student guests.
The changes we need to make are for you, she said. This is why we do the work, to build a world that is equal and fair, and that work is not done yet.
Library visit to @MoAD_Canberra to the Changemakers exhibition, and do the Pins, Pearls + Portfolios tour. 🙏to women like Edith Cowan, Susan Ryan, Joan Childs, Jessie Street, and other 🚺, who stuck their foot in the door to keep it open for other 🚺🚺🚺. #auspol#WomensRights
Reckon Jessie Street would heartily approve of the way @BathurstCouncil recognises the history of this first inland colonial town. Peace, feminism, and recognition of the Aboriginal owners of this land are all celebrated, and history owned. #JessieStreet
The theme for this year’s #IWD2022 observance is “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow.”
IWD poster March 9th 1985 designed by Toni Robertson. From the JSNWL collection.
And well earned! Congratulations to Kaz Cooke for another brilliant read. We must get a copy.
And for those interested, our collection of posters and ephemera documenting Australian women's lives is second to none! @penguinrandom
Following @TamePunk’s lead, we’re asking all witches to stop calling any LNP politician or terrible journo by their surname, or by both names.
They exhibit contempt for us repeatedly, so we’ll return the favour by only using first names where possible.
Who’s in?
